All Things Working Together for Good to Those Who Love God
Rom. 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
All Things Working Together for Good
To Those Who Love God
“all things” means all matters, all persons, all things, all in all. God the Father is sovereign and He arranges everything. He knows how many hairs you need (Matt. 10:30) and how many children you should have. Do not complain about your children, for God will not give you more or less than you need. He is sovereign. He knows. He knows whether you need obedient children or naughty children. He knows whether you need boys or girls. He causes all things, all matters, and all persons to work together for your good. Praise the Lord that God causes all things, all matters, and all persons to work together for good to those who love Him and who have been called by Him to the end that He may fulfill His purpose. (Life-study of Romans, msg. 21)
Only one kind of people enjoy the good: those who love God. If you do not love God, perhaps not even one thing is working for you. God does not alter things; He changes your heart. If you love God, then all things, though unaltered, will work for your good. Sometimes you complain about everything that comes your way. You complain concerning this and concerning that. Yet if love is there, all these will mean nothing to you. Loving God will make an unsatisfactory environment a profitable one. (CWWN, vol. 18, “Notes on Scriptural Messages (2),” ch. 12)
Everything Working Together for Good to Us
Do not complain about what your wife or husband or the saints in the church do to you. For those who love God, everything works together for good. The crucial matter here is whether or not we love God. If you love Him, even an accident works good for you. But if you do not love Him, not even graduating from a university with a doctorate will work good for you. I have suffered much throughout the years, but I have been comforted by the fact that everything works good for me. Whenever I undergo suffering, I remember Romans 8:28 and I am comforted immediately. (Life-study of Genesis, msg. 119)
Being under God’s Blessing, and Everything Is a Blessing to Us
Rather, all things will work together for good to you as long as you love the Lord (Rom. 8:28). Even the most insignificant thing works together for your good. Everything, good or bad, positive or negative, is a blessing. We all must believe this. Even if we lose something, that loss is a blessing. No matter how you treat me, with love or with hatred, what you do to me is a blessing. If you do not do anything, that also is a blessing. If we saw this, we would simply pray, “Lord, I don’t know what is good or what is bad. Lord, I only pray that Your will be done.” We are the blessed people, that we are under God’s blessing, everything is a blessing to us. Whatever happens to us, good or bad, we should say,“Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! This is a blessing.” (Life-study of Genesis, msg. 106)
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, praise You that You are God, the sovereign One. Thank You for arranging all matters, all persons, all things to work together for good to those who love You. Lord, I don’t know what is good or what is bad. Lord, I only pray that Your will be done. Day by day, Lord, deepen my love toward You, that I will love You more and more, I believe that You will never be wrong.
