The Lord of Peace Giving Us Peace Continually in Every Way
In the church life we need to be at peace in everything, in every way, and with everyone. For this, we need the Lord of peace to give us peace continually in every way. 2 Thessalonians verse 16 says, “Now the Lord of peace Himself give you peace continually in every way. The Lord be with you all.” (Life-study of 2 Thessalonians, msg. 7)
Turning to the Lord
and Not Having Any Anxiety
We have a great deal of worries in our mind. Perhaps we are able to temporarily set aside our worries at night when we go to sleep, but as soon as we wake up, our mind begins turning again. We worry about our job, our business, our health, our homework, and many other things so that our whole being is full of anxiety and without peace.
We who are lovers of the Lord can testify that many times problems come to us and we do not know what to do, yet if we would just turn our hearts to the Lord and offer praise and thanksgiving to Him, immediately there is an unspeakable peace that calms us so that we do not have any anxiety. The God whom we contact is resurrection. When we contact God, resurrection functions in us, and everything is under our feet. When resurrection functions in us, we are full of joy, full of peace, full of rest, full of praising, and full of rejoicing. (CWWL, 1991-1992, vol. 2, “The Christian Life,” msg. 10)
Experiencing Unspeakable Peace And Joy by Contacting God
There are many times when our prayers are not “answered” by God in our way of “timely help.” Whether or not our prayer is “answered,” as long as we contact God, He will flow through us as the living water. This flow is our timely help. The problems might remain or even become worse, but inwardly, we will experience unspeakable peace and joy. This is timely help. Timely help is the living God, the flowing God, coming into us and flowing through us to refresh, water, and supply us.
The way into the Holy of Holies is now open, and we can enter in (Heb. 10:19-20). We can touch the throne. God and the Lamb are flowing out from the throne to be our supply. Whenever, by the Lord’s blood, we come forward and touch the throne of grace, God flows to refresh and water us, and we experience indescribable joy, no matter how harsh the circumstances are. Prayer:
Lord Jesus, praise You that You are the Lord of peace. You give us peace continually in every way in all kinds of things. Oh, Lord, I need You, although I have a great deal of worries, yet if I would just turn to You, immediately there is an unspeakable peace. Lord, I come to contact You, You flow through me as the living water, and I will be full of joy, full of peace, full of rest, full of praising, and full of rejoicing. Amen.
